Tomorrow when I wake up it will be Friday : ) I have so much to accomplish at work, I know the day will fly by.

Life is pretty great from where I currently stand. My job keeps me busy and I enjoy my work. I have a date on Saturday with a tall, handsome man who is incredibly sweet. I really like that he laughs at my stupid jokes! I have great friends and an awesome family. I’m working out just about everyday and getting into really good shape. Like I said, my life is pretty great : )

You have to get back up when life knocks you down. It will be hard, but you will be a stronger person because of it.

Hey! This is a picture of myself and Liza (a friend of mine) at Annett & Ives’ wedding – check out my sexy heels! The wedding was so wonderful. We all had such a great time. The after party wasn’t too bad, either! I love my new brother-in-law, Ives. He’s such a great guy and loves my sister to pieces.

I would like to post more pictures when I have more time, but as of right now I am off to spend the holiday with my family and close friends. I am so stinkin’ excited! I hope yours is great, too! Cheers!

how to be a badass at work

There are several ways you can show those you work with that you are, in fact, a badass.

1. Show up on time. It shows your boss you are someone he/she can depend on. I work with two other girls, so being late is easily noticed. If I am late to work I have to put myself through the trouble of tiptoeing past my boss’s office and trust me, this isn’t easy to do when the building you’re in is like one hundred years old and squeaks with every breath you make.

2. Be happy. There is nothing worse than being surrounded by a bunch of sour pusses. Don’t allow petty things to get you down. Show the world (and your fellow employees) that you are someone who can handle what is dealt you. Hopefully your good attitude will rub off on those unhappy faces around you. If not, maybe you should start looking for a different job. Or a hitman. I know a guy. Hit me up.

3. Tell yourself that you can do anything, even if you aren’t sure you can. ”What the mind can conceive, the body can achieve.” I have always appreciated that saying because I believe there is a lot of truth to it. If you are assigned a certain project that you aren’t sure you can do, just give it a shot. It’s okay to ask questions, ya know. And if you aren’t one of those people who can blow everyone out of the water with just one attempt, fret not. Neither are most people! But really, don’t give up. You are awesome. With the right motivation you can do anything.

I’m afraid I will have to continue the “badass” talk with you at some other time. I’m late for a dinner date. (For the record, while it isn’t okay to be late to work, it is okay to be a few minutes late to meet your date. Why? Because you are worth the wait, my dear.)

Haha. I saw that posted as another blogger’s title for their post. I didn’t read the article, but maybe I should go back and check it out.

I see I haven’t written on here in a while. To all of my devoted fans, I sincerely apologize. I don’t believe I have offended anyone, however, as I have no subscribers and I have yet to receive one comment to this day. No harm, no foul.

Let’s see… not much has changed. I did recently start a new job, so that is very exciting. Other than that, same ol’.

pumpkins – cuter than owls

I’ve changed my blog title once again. Mike and I were talking about pumpkins yesterday and a light bulb went off. I LOVE pumpkins (and punkins, too) so I decided to rename the title of this blog to something of that sort. I was kinda lazy and wasn’t feeling too creative, so all I did was change out ‘owl’ for ‘pumpkin’. An easy switch that worked just fine.
I’m waiting for my sister to pick me up for church. Mike literally lives no more than 100 feet from the church building of which I attend, so I could very well walk there by myself. I just don’t want to. I will happily wait for her.
I am drinking an earl grey tea and listening to Tanker snore.
Maybe this afternoon I will get some sewing done. And a walk. Mike encouraged me to go for a walk yesterday with Tanker, and I am so glad I did. It’s amazing how a little bit of exercise can boost your mood.

happy lunch break

Luuuunch! Sometimes it is my favorite time of day because it means the work day is almost over. And also because during this time I get to fill my tummy with lots of good food :]. Speaking of food, I just gave Tanker a little snack. He will do anything to get his treat. He is a very well-trained dog to begin with, but when you have a treat in front of him he will follow his commands perfectly. It is so fun taking care of him. He is such a sweetheart.
I was able to chat with Mike earlier today. Smile. He said he missed me and that he will be heading back Friday instead of Saturday, because I have next Saturday off. And that way we can see each other a day earlier. YAY!! I am so excited. I better not get too crazy, though, in this new way of life I have developed… ‘empty house syndrome’ or other, where the person occupying an empty house will not complete any household chores and will act rather slobbish. I am definitely showing signs. Haha.
I hope the weather is still nice out when I get off work. I would love to go for a hike with Tanker.

Busy day at work. Tomorrow will be busy, too! I cannot wait for my day off on Sunday. I hope to get a ton done… church in the morning, work on some house cleaning (thankfully Mike keeps a clean house, so I shouldn’t have too much to do), take Tanker for a walk, start a sewing project, and play my guitar… maybe even have lunch with my friends. That sounds like a great plan, yeah? I think so.
I have been so lazy these last few days and haven’t done any exercising. That will change tomorrow, because I am off at 4pm, and I will have plenty of sunshine to go running in. If the weather is nice I might even take a hike.
I better get ready for bed. I have to be up early so I can be to work at 7am. Tomorrow will go fast. Holla!
Down another day. Eight more days and I will see my sweetheart again :].

not quite an empty house

Tanker’s head is nudged against me as we sit nestled together on the futon. He is napping as I type. I think, by the looks of it, he loves me :]. We’re a perfect fit, then. I love him, too. He looks so comfortable that I hate to leave him in a few minutes so I can shower before bed. It’s alright, though. I imagine we will have lots of cuddling time within the next few days.
Mike left this afternoon. It is so quiet here. And this house is so cold without him. As it stands, Mike will be back by next Saturday (April 2nd). So I have nine evenings in this giant house all alone. Not totally alone… I still have Tanker.

I don’t really know what to write. I feel tired. I feel very sad. Mike is leaving tomorrow afternoon and then I will not see him for almost two weeks. It will be the most time we have spent away from one another… and it sucks! He is excited, though, and I am excited for him. He will get to spend time with his family and friends while he is away. I really wish I could have gone with him.
Tanker and I will try to have a good time without him, though. I told Mike that Tanker and I are going to cuddle on the couch and watch a ton of movies while he is gone. I’m pretty sure that made him jealous :].
Yesterday’s adventure proved a success. Nicole found (and purchased!) a beautiful wedding gown. It looks so wonderful on her. Sharon (Nicole’s cousin) and I found some super cute dresses, too. All of the bridesmaids will have different dresses, just the same color. The one I chose is so stinkin’ cute… and it has pockets! Even though I enjoyed the time spent with Nicole and her family, I have to admit that dress shopping, and really shopping in general, can be very exhausting. And I only tried on four dresses! It’s really overwhelming for me, as much as I love clothes. I feel silly saying this, but I can only take so much of it, haha.
